Abiotic Systems  - Non-living.  Abiotic refers to Forces, E.g., lightning, tornados, fire, etc.  Biotic refers to agents, E.g., insects, fungi, bacteria, etc.  Light connects the biotic and abiotic.  Abiotic systems are connections of parts [elements, water, temperature, energy, and space], and processes [weather, seasons, and many others], in ways that result in known, or predetermined, or highly predictable end points.  We have extreme on the living side and extreme on the dead side.  We could say really dead, but that would not be very smart.

Energy, temperature, water, elements and space. All life depends on these abiotic factors.
