Hydrogen  - Hydrogen is an element.  Hydrogen is fickle - always changing position.  Hydrogen is one of the six basic chemicals of life.  Six chemicals - carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O),  nitrogen (N), sulfur (S) and phosphorus (P) - make up about 98 percent of the weight of people and trees. It is the way that the chemicals are connected, that make animals different from trees.  All living things require at least 16 essential elements.  Carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen combined make up carbohydrates.  The bonds that hold the CHO together are high energy yielding bonds.  Carbohydrate is tree food.
